Sydney, Bridge Climb, and the Opera

Hi Girlies,
Yesterday we were in Sydney, Australia.  Here is a view of the city from our ship.  Our ship had to anchor in the harbor because another ship was using the dock.  You can see the harbor bridge which Gpa climbed.

This is the other ship that was in town, the Queen Elizabeth.

After we walked around a bit, Gpa went to do the bridge climb.

Lots of famous people have climbed the bridge including this guy.  Wow, The Boss!  There is a picture of Oprah there but the guide told me she took an elevator to the top, ha!

Here is Gpa on the bridge.  That is our ship in the picture.  The views from the top were amazing.  The climb wasn’t scary, we were tethered to the bridge at all times, and there were rails of both sides of us.  It was lots of fun.  While Gpa climbed the bridge, Nana did a harbor cruise with her friend Elaine.

This is the group I climbed with.  Most of them were from England.  You can see how I am tethered to the bridge in this picture.

In the evening we went to see Madam Butterfly at the opera house.  Here we are having a pre opera glass of champagne.

The opera was wonderful.  When we got back to the ship we had a little snack in the Bistro.  That ended our busy and fun day in Sydney.  We wish we had another day in Sydney, but our ship sailed at midnight for Melbourne, we arrive there tomorrow at noon.
A couple days ago Nana was a model in the ship’s fashion show.  She wore this pretty and lacy blue dress.

Then to dinner that night she wore this black dress.

Our head waiter Bogan (pronounced Boyan) special ordered Chateaubriand for us.  Bogan treats us very well, he is a funny guy.  Here he is carving the meat.

It was delish!

So that is it from Sydney.  Today is a lazy sea day to rest up for our two days in Melbourne.  Hope is well with you girlies.  You sure have had a lot of snow days!!  We love you and miss you.

  1. Gpa, I would have loved the amusement park and to climb the bridge with you. What did Madam Butterfly sing like?! In the movies, nobody likes opera singers because they scream sing. Mommy says she likes it though. I can't believe nana was in the ship's fashion show. She is definitely pretty enough!:) That Chateaubriand looked yummy! Mommy had to pronounce it for me:) I miss and love you! See you in June:) Keep blogging!
