Fremantle and Perth

Hi Girlies,

KT, I don’t “always have to go to a brewery” :).

Last night at 6pm our ship left Perth for our 3000 mile, six day crossing of the Indian Ocean.  We had a fun two days in Fremantle and Perth.  Fremantle is the port city for Perth.  Perth is 15 miles up the Swan River from the ocean.  We took a ferry boat ride from Fremantle to Perth.  Here is our ship from the ferry.

We saw lots of pretty houses on the Swan River.  Our guide said this house is the most expensive in Australia, $57 million.

It took us one hour to get to Perth from Fremantle on the ferry.  We did a bus tour of the city and then we went to the beautiful botanical garden.  We had a wonderful view of the city.

The garden has lots of these beautiful Eucalyptus trees.

In the park is this memorial to Australia’s military.

Our second day in port we toured Fremantle.  The town had lots of interesting buildings.

This building looks like New Orleans.

This is a brewery.  No, Gpa didn’t go there.  It wasn’t open yet, or I would have!

This is a walking street for shopping.

They call this Cappuccino Street because of all the cafes.

We went to this market and bought a few things.

I love this tree.

OK, that is a look at Fremantle and Perth.  We have LOVED our time in both New Zealand and Australia.  Now it is on to Mauritius, Madagascar, and South Africa.  We should have lots of interesting things to show you from those places.  Gpa probably won’t be posting for a few days as we only have sea days.  I am going to put together a post with pictures of the ship, look for that.  So bye for now.  Keep those hilarious comments coming!!
