Hi Girlies,
Yes, I said Reunion, France. The island of Reunion way out here in the Indian Ocean is really part of France. In fact, it is French province number 974. French is spoken on the island and the currency is the Euro. We arrived about 8am and a couple hours later we took the ship’s shuttle into the beach town of St Gillis. There really wasn’t much to see in St Gillis except for the beach, so we only spent a couple hours there before returning to the ship. The weather was HOT. This is what it looked like from the bus while riding into the town. The island is very green and beautiful.

This is the beach. We didn’t swim here.
Some people were surfing.
Lots of boats in the marina.
So that’s a little look at Reunion Island. There really wasn't much to do here except wander around the town a bit. If we had the day to do over again, we would have taken a tour around the island. After returning to the ship, we spent the afternoon by the pool listening to the band and having a few cool drinks. At 5pm we sailed for Madagascar. Today we are at sea and arrive in Madagascar tomorrow morning. We hope to get Lemur pictures for you.
For the last two nights Nana wore these dresses to dinner.
Tommy Bahama pink!
BTW, our magnet collection is growing, and we have many more ports to go!
OK Girlies, that’s it for now. We will post again after Madagascar. Have a nice weekend, hope Mommy is feeling better.
Love,
Gpa and Nanoo
