Curacao

Hi Girls,

Today we are in Curacao.  It is a really pretty place.  Here is a picture of the nice cafes next to the water.

The first thing we did today was go on a tour of the city and the surrounding area.  Nanoo took this picture of some Flamingos, they were so pink and pretty.  Our guide told us they are white when they hatch, and they turn pink because of the shrimp they eat. I think it is the cocktail sauce on the shrimp that does it :).

So KT, you want to know why we eat cheese for desert.  I guess we shouldn’t call it desert.  It should be called a cheese course.  In lots of countries, people eat cheese after their dinner.  They usually have a little sweet red wine called Port to go with the cheese.  So that is what we have been doing.  The cheese on the ship is very good.  The ship has lots of yummy deserts, but so far we haven’t had one of them. But we will!  

Last night we ate in the ship’s Italian restaurant which is called Prego.

The restaurant is very pretty.

Nana had Carpaccio for her starter, she loved it.

Gpa had a crab salad, very good.

Next Nana had Mediterranean salad, she really liked it.

Gpa had a small plate of pasta, yummy.

Nana had Sea Bass for her main course, she didn’t like it very much.

Gpa had Osso Buco, it was super!

We didn't have any desert because we had to go to a reception to meet some other people on the cruise.  We met Keith and Ann Marie.  Ask mommy about them, she knows who they are.

Gpa is writing this at 4pm at the ship’s pool.  Nana is taking a rest after our day walking in Curacao.

 

  The ship doesn’t sail until midnight.  Our next port in Santa Marta, Columbia.  We still have over 100 days remaining on the cruise!
